'We moved into 15 Goulton Road 7 years ago. Since then we have slowly and lovingly restored the property.

The flat is unusual for the following three reasons; It is double fronted, giving wonderful width to the house and garden. The ceilings are unusually high. And finally, because the utility room is in the basement, we have been able to make the living space completely open plan, giving an exceptional sense of space & light.

The entire ground floor is covered in Dinesen Douglas Fir floor boards with the exception of the Bert and May tiles in the bathrooms. We have a working gas fire surrounded by books giving a cosy heart to the house. We believe lighting in a house is the one of the most import things to get right, too many people go over board on poorly placed spots. All of our spots are placed close to the wall, so that the light bounces off the wall into the room to remove any glare. The bathrooms are paneled and we have left the beams exposed in the sitting room to increase the feeling of height in the extended section of the property.

We are bang in the middle of Hackney, a three minute walk to Hackney Downs park, eight minutes to Chatsworth Road where we get our food and fifteen minutes to Broadway Market.
